Wait a minute, she said. by ~strange-consequences:iconstrange-consequences:

I'm trying to cope with the apocalypse
which I dreamed up last night by mistake,
Not to mention an idle past
And a possibly bleak future.

One hour at a time is never right.
Sometimes too slow, Sometimes too fast
the way speed limits are
like empty shopping malls.

By which I think she meant
The clocks will be the first
against the wall when
the revolution comes.

Next will come the calendars.
Let's mark every day on the cell wall
Carve it out with our fingernails
make it mean something less papery.

Take those heartbeats
and stick them to something
take those breaths
and align them with some stars.

But standardizing your standards
Does make getting places easier
Getting places is sometimes useful
An expensive watch is almost romantic.
